Tasks description
The volunteers' basic function is the participation in the leisure and free time activities, as for example, outings or excursions with the children and young people, preparing and organising the activities and workshops, attending group meetings with the youth workers and monitors, preparing and giving out snacks, accompanying small children home after the activities or have frequent contact with the social workers of the area. Therefore , the tasks of the volunteer will be aimed at: - Actively collaborating in the preparation of activities to be carried out in the Open Centre. (15%) - Participating in the different activities, both for children as for youths, as well as preparing and carrying out games and workshops (30%) - Carrying out a personal follow-up of the children with the greatest social and emotional needs. (5%) - Getting to know the different professionals of the neighbourhood and share with them the follow-up that has been done. (5%) - Once the follow-up is done, searching for possible resources to solve the needs of the different persons, (helping with school work, occupational training, family follow up…) (3%) - Keeping a logbook, that is, writing everything that has taken place while carrying out the different activities of the centre with the aim of promoting communication in the work group. (5%) - Attending the daily evaluation that is done after the activities have taken place. (5%) - Voluntary participation in specific campaigns carried out by the entity, provided that these do not affect the daily activity. (summer camps, solidarity campaigns….) (5%) - Obligatory assistance to the language classes. - Accompanying children and youngsters to the different outside activities, for example going to computer centre and leisure activities centres - Accompanying the smallest children home (2%) - Preparing and organising workshops and activities for the children (10%) -Giving help in school work (2 hours per day) to children who request this help. (5%) The timetable s the following (with a variation during the summer): During the first month of service (whenever it takes place) 15 hours per week service per week From 12 to 13:30: Wednesdays and Thursdays: linguistic course. Fridays: meeting with the mentor (on the volunteers' request) From 16:30 to 17:00: meeting to prepare the activities with children of the centre. From 17 to 19h. - Activities with the children From 19 to 19.30h. - Evaluation (during the first month activities with youths are not carried out as it is preferable that the volunteers be acquainted with the running of the centre and with who the beneficiaries are). From 1st July to 30 August From Monday to Thursday . - 33 hours per week The volunteers will have one of these days free apart from the weekend) From 10.30 to 13.30h. - Leisure activities with children aged 8 to 12 years(including meetings) From 16.30 to 19.30 h. - activities with children aged 3 to 8 From 19.30 to 22h. - Activities with youngsters at the centre or in the neighbourhood Fridays: From 11 to 17h. - Activities in the swimming pool (lunch at the swimming pool) From 19 to 22h. - Activities with youngsters at the centre. From the 1st September to the 1st June (normal timetable) 27 hours service per week. From 12 to 13:30: Wednesdays and Thursdays: linguistic course. Fridays: Meeting with the tutor (on request of the volunteers) From 16:30 to 17:00: meeting to prepare the activities carried out with the children of the centre. From 17 to 19h. - Activities with the children From 19 to 19.30h. - Evaluation of the activities From 19.30 to 22h. - Activities with youngsters at the centre or at the youth centre of the area. Saturdays and Sundays are free for the volunteers and during the summer months (July and August) the volunteers will have an additional full free day.
