Who to ?
This site aims to be a meeting place for ALL the young people involved in EVS. So, if you are, if you were or if you'll be an European Volunteer, this is the right place for you.
[Table of Contents]What for ?
The community mainly has two aims:
- Let people share their EVS experience. Have you ever thought about writing down some lines about how you spent your EVS time? This can be useful for other people who want to start EVS. Our site includes a rating, after finishing your EVS project you can give a vote for our statistics, what you liked and what you didn't like that much. The project statistics offer great help for EVS neebies who are looking for the right project for them.
- Travel mates & hospitality. During you're stay in another country you might wish to visit it as much as possible. With this site you can find other people involved in the European Voluntary Service, who can travel with you or host you when you are visiting another town.
Why join the community
To become a member in the 4evs community is really easy and it is completely free. Once you are registered, you'll be part of the EVS network, you have the possibility to have your personal page to tell all the other EVS volunteers and ex EVS volunteers where you are and who you are.

volunteers
Here you can search the database for any EVS volunteer who is registered in the community, either by their name, their home country or the conuntry of their EVS. Like this you can find more about them, find somebody close to you/ your project.
[Table of Contents]projects
In projects you can search the database for EVS projects that already have been rated by our community members. Like this you can find out, how other people liked their project or maybe even contact someone who has been working in the project you are interested in before you go there ... highly recommended. ;-)
[Table of Contents]news
Well, there is not too much to say about this part of the website ... anybody can send us news about EVS to be published on our site, e.g. if you organize a seminar for evs volunteers or just anything else people might be interested in. If you are an hosting or sending organisation, a rapresentant of an EX-EVS association, a member of a National Agency, or just someone who has the fingers in the pie, ask for an administrator account, and you'll be able to publish directly by yourself news on the site.
[Table of Contents]forum
Everybody is invited to take part in our forum. Here you can look for a partner for a Future Capital project or just discuss about EVS realated topics. Everybody can view the messages, but if you would like to post a message yourself, please become a member of our community first. After you are logged in, just enter one of the forums, on the very bottom of the page you can find a form to enter a new message.
[Table of Contents]Ex-EVS ass.
In most of the countries there are organisations of former EVS volunteers, the so called Ex-EVS associations. What for? Well, as each organisation is independent, it probably differs from country to country. But most likely they try to inform about doing EVS in their country, to support volunteers who are doing there EVS in their country, to help ex volunteers who want to do a Future Capital or they just want to keep in touch with other ex volunteers. All we do on this site is giving you a list of links and addresses, so that you can find out by yourself, what the Ex-EVS association in your home country or in the country of your EVS project is like. By the way, also part of the forum is for members of Ex-EVS associations, don't forget to have a look there.

[Table of Contents]Who made this site ?
This site is the result of a so called Future Capital project (that's something that everybody can do after his EVS), the Future Capital project was done by Simone Fumagalli (Italy) in 2003. Since spring 2004 the second version of the page is online, a lot of things has improved, but there are lot of things that still can be improved. This site is an open project, anyone who has some good ideas is invited to join us!
